I intend to invest in oil company shares to take advantage of peak oil and the lack of supply (& increased demand from China) for more info read this excellent fool post and my blog entry discussing peak oil.

Its also worth reading IronPryites post on when to sell an O&G company which is another essential read.  Another excellent KoD post explaining how to value Soco (and links to davjo’s posts detailing prices to use),
