Latest Jim Rogers Video on Bloomberg
I found this comprehensive 40 minute Jim Rogers video on Night Talk very interesting. It repeats the themes aired in his earlier videos, but also includes his thoughts on the new appointments made by President Obama and his latest thoughts.
Jim rogers raises the possibility that the US may default on its debt in the near future, and repeats the message that bailout process is similar to that Japan embarked on 18 years ago (and how the market there is still 80% from its peak)
On discussing his latest positions, Jim repeats how he has beeen investing in comoddities especially agriculture but refuses to be drawn on the exact comoddites (though pointing out sugar and cotton are well below their highs).
On regulation, Jim points out that the system has gotten out of control with massive amounts of fraudulent credit flooding the system. He displays contempt for both Greenspan and Bernanke, doubting their competance and noting that the FED should let companies fail.
On currencies, he feels that the current dollar rally is an artificial rally caused by the forced deleveraging that is currently being seen. He speculates that this may last into next year.
Throughout the piece, he compares the fall of the UK from being a superpower to the present situation in the USA. Very bareish on US prospects and on the people runnig the show.
